LEGEND+
2025
Reimagine a classic, widely loved housing by applying a bold new CMF strategy, introducing updated color stories and technologies new to the company, while preserving the integrity and recognition of the original form.
PERIMETERS
Technical Constraints:
-
Work within an existing housing architecture with no changes to core geometry.
-
Utilize PVD finishes while maintaining durability, color fidelity, and manufacturing feasibility.
-
Apply detailed graphics without compromising surface integrity or CMF performance.
Business Needs: Respond to buyer demand for products with stronger color impact and shelf presence, capable of standing toe-to-toe with leading competitors, while establishing a fresh CMF direction for future launches.
Timeline: Multi-phase development aligned to a limited-edition product launch.

DEVLOPMENT
Partnered closely with Product Management to clarify the request and align on buyer expectations. Built multiple CMF concepts using prior PVD explorations, pushing color depth and finish quality. Introduced a graphic exploration phase focused on laser-etched patterns, testing how different etching approaches interacted with metallic surfaces. Iterated concepts to balance visual impact, manufacturability, and brand alignment.

OUTCOME
Launched as a limited-edition product that marked the beginning of a new color story for the brand. This project initiated a broader CMF direction and established a foundation for future color strategies, led through my role as Color Lead for the Global CMF team.
