As HART looked to expand into outdoor products, the 40V pole saw looked to champion this category.

The design needed to bridge the previously released 20V model while elevating performance, ergonomics, and shelf presence. I led the design direction, CAD development, and refinement through production.

PERIMETERS
Technical Constraints:
 • Extensive ventilation airflow required to support heavy motor load.
• Vent placement must avoid debris kickback/pull-through.
• Aesthetics and engineering must align with evolving Tech Pack.

Business Needs: Differentiate HART within competitive DIY retail while communicating capable performance for homeowners.
Timeline: Twelve weeks from initial sketches to production-ready CAD.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

Explored multiple head-unit forms and vent patterns to balance airflow with strong geometric identity. Sketch and CAD iteration focused on clear branding, intuitive use, and manufacturable surfaces.
